Six quick paths to the right answer.

Guides

Step-by-step answers for each topic above.

Getting started

Installation guide

Upload the AURA theme file to your Shopify store, preview it, then publish. About 10 minutes.

Back to topics ↑

Before you start

  • A Shopify store (any plan) and access to its admin.
  • The AURA theme file: a .zip archive from the download link you received after purchase. Keep it zipped.

Step by step

  1. Download the AURA .zip file from your download link.
  2. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
  3. In the Theme library, click Add theme > Upload zip file, select the AURA .zip and confirm. The upload takes about a minute.
  4. AURA now appears in your theme library. Open its … menu and click Preview to see it with your own products, without changing your live store.
  5. Click Customize to add your logo, colors and content (see the Customization guide).
  6. When you are ready, click Publish. Your previous theme stays in the library, so you can switch back at any time.

If the upload fails

  • "Missing layout/theme.liquid": your computer unzipped the file (Safari does this automatically) and it was compressed again with an extra folder level. Compress the contents of the theme folder, so that the folders assets, config, layout, sections and templates sit at the root of the .zip.
  • Theme library full: Shopify keeps up to 20 themes. Delete one you no longer use, then upload again.
Customization

Colors, fonts & images

Everything is done in the Shopify theme editor, without code. Nothing goes live until you save or publish.

Back to topics ↑

Open the theme editor

Online Store > Themes, then Customize on AURA. Theme settings (the brush icon in the left bar) holds the global styles below.

Colors

  1. Theme settings > Colors: edit the color schemes. Each scheme sets the background, text and button colors of the sections that use it.
  2. To change one section only, select it and choose another Color scheme in its settings.

Fonts

  1. Theme settings > Typography: choose the body, subheading, heading and accent fonts from the Shopify font library.
  2. Adjust paragraph size and line height, and the size of each heading level (H1 to H6).

Logo and favicon

Theme settings > Logo and favicon: upload your logo, set its height on desktop and mobile, and add a favicon.

Buttons

Theme settings > Buttons: colors, border, corner radius and font of primary and secondary buttons.

Images

  1. Click a section or block that contains an image, then Select image to upload or pick a file.
  2. Use images at least 2000 px wide for full-width sections, and keep the same ratio for similar images (for example all product photos).
  3. Add a short alt text to each image: it helps accessibility and search engines.
Content

Products, collections, pages & sections

Add your catalog in the Shopify admin, then arrange how it appears with AURA’s sections.

Back to topics ↑

Products

  1. Products > Add product: title, description, media and price.
  2. Set the status to Active and make sure Online Store is selected under Publishing, otherwise the product won't show on your site.

Collections

  1. Products > Collections > Create collection.
  2. Choose Manual (you pick the products) or Smart (products are added automatically from conditions such as a tag or product type).
  3. To show a collection, select it in a section's settings or add it to your menu.

Pages and menus

  1. Online Store > Pages > Add page for your About, Contact or FAQ pages. Under Theme template, choose the matching AURA template.
  2. Online Store > Navigation: edit the main menu and footer menu to link your pages and collections.

Sections

  1. In the theme editor, choose the page to edit from the selector at the top (Home page, Products, Collections…).
  2. Add section inserts a new section. Drag the handle to reorder, use the eye icon to hide, and click a section to edit its content and blocks.
  3. A product or collection template applies to every product or collection that uses it.
License

License & Usage

Every AURA purchase includes a Single-Store Commercial License.

Back to topics ↑

What your license includes

  • Use of the AURA theme on one Shopify store.
  • Perpetual for that store: no subscription and no expiry.
  • Commercial and non-exclusive: you can use AURA to sell your products, and other brands can buy AURA too.

What is not allowed

  • Reselling or redistributing the theme files, modified or not.
  • Using one license on several stores: a separate license is required for each additional store.

Digital delivery and refunds

AURA is delivered by instant download. Our Refund Policy explains your right of withdrawal for digital content and what happens if your files don't work.

Technical

Troubleshooting sections & images

Quick checks when a section or an image doesn’t look the way you expect.

Back to topics ↑

A section doesn't appear

  1. In the theme editor, check that the section isn't hidden (eye icon) and that you are editing the right page template.
  2. Sections that display products or a collection need one selected in their settings, and that collection must contain products.
  3. Products must be Active and published on the Online Store sales channel.

An image doesn't display or looks wrong

  1. Check that an image is selected in the section or block, then click Save.
  2. Use JPG, PNG or WebP files. Shopify accepts images up to 20 MB; 2000 to 3000 px wide is ideal for full-width sections.
  3. Image cropped: change the section's image height or ratio setting, or set a focal point on the image.
  4. Image blurry: upload a larger file.

Changes don't show on the live site

  1. Click Save in the theme editor.
  2. Check that you edited the published theme, not a copy in your theme library.
  3. Reload the page in a private window to rule out your browser cache.
